Winterslow rewarded with Activemark
Winterslow school has achieved the Activemark from The
Department for Education and Skills. This award is presented for
exceptional delivery within the National School Sport Strategy.

Winterslow gains Naacemark for schools
In March 2004, Winterslow became the first school in
Wiltshire to be awarded the Naacemark for schools. The Naacemark has been
developed by Naace, in association with Becta. It is an award which
recognises a school's success in developing and implementing a strategic
approach to ICT. It provides a framework for using ICT to enhance teaching
and learning and provides opportunities for the school community to develop
ICT capability. Working towards and gaining the Naacemark enables schools
to move forward with the knowledge that they are implementing recognised
good practice. |

Winterslow awarded Beacon status
In May 2002, Winterslow
was awarded Beacon status. The beacon school
programme was established in 1998 and involved nursery, primary, secondary
and special schools. It was designed to build partnerships between high
performing schools across the country and represent examples of successful
practice, with a view to sharing and spreading that effective practice to
other schools to raise overall standards in pupil attainment.' |

Winterslow recognised as an 'Investor in People'
In 2002, Winterslow was
recognised as an 'Investor in People'. Investors in People
is the national Standard which sets out a level of good practice for
training and development of people to achieve business goals. The
result is - what people can and are motivated to do, matches what the
organisation needs them to do. This award was re-validated in 2005. |

Winterslow accredited with the Healthy school Award
In 2002, Winterslow was accredited with the Healthy school award.
We have just successfully been re-validated under the new more stringent
guidelines. The external assessor said "The school has demonstrated
developments in many health related areas, exceeding most of the Healthy
School standards. A very positive school ethos has aided development from a
high starting point". |

Winterslow received an exceptional Ofsted report In
November 2001, Winterslow received an exceptional Ofsted report. 'The team found no area where
significant improvement was required. It has good procedures in place for
self evaluation and review and is constantly striving to improve even
further. This is a very effective school. Standards in the key
subjects... are well above average. Ethos at the school is excellent.
Quality of the teaching is a major strength... in some cases it was
inspirational' The Ofsted report of September
2006 stated that the school was good with outstanding features. The
inspector commented "This is an extremely happy and caring environment,
where attention to the pupils well being is outstanding". |

Winterslow awarded F A Charter for Schools We
received this award in February 2005 in recognition of excellent provision
for football and quality of coaching facilities
