Ofsted & SIAMs

Ofsted- July 2024

Dear families,

As you are aware, back in July, Ofsted completed a two-day graded inspection of our school. I have now received the final report and am thrilled to share this with you. The report will also be accessible via the school website and published on the official Ofsted report website.

Following a rigorous inspection, we are delighted that our school has been graded Good in all areas. This is an excellent outcome; the benchmark for Good is very high and I am very proud that the strength of our school has been recognised throughout all areas inspected.

I am very pleased that the hard work undertaken by the Winterslow staff team, the Trust, pupils and our wider community has been recognised along with a number of other strengths. Some of the highlights and fantastic insights include:

  • Winterslow Church of England Primary School is a place where pupils ‘explore, discover and sparkle’.
  • Pupils benefit from the strong and caring relationships they have with adults in school. They trust adults to help them with any concerns. As a result, pupils are happy and feel safe.
  • The school is calm and orderly. Pupils are polite and they behave well. Older pupils set a good example to younger pupils. Pupils focus well during lessons and there is little disruption.
  • The school has designed an ambitious curriculum.
  • Adults are experts in the teaching of early reading.
  • Older pupils talk with enthusiasm about reading. They are eager to share their reading books.
  • Governors and trustees have an accurate understanding of the school’s strengths and development areas.
  • Pupils know that everyone at school is equal. They show fairness in the way they treat each other.
  • Pupils learn about the importance of democracy and how having a voice in school can bring about positive change.

The report itself, although not able to reflect everything at Winterslow, highlights the many elements of effective provision at our school in addition to capturing some next steps. It was reassuring to know that these were areas we had already identified as areas for further development for us as a school.

With your continued support, we look forward to the school continuing to provide a positive and nurturing environment where all children feel happy, safe and ‘explore, discover and sparkle’.

We have a few spaces available and warmly welcome enquiries from prospective families.
