School Council

The School Council meet regularly with the Head Teacher and other teachers. This year they are working to plan the redevelopment of the Key Stage 1 play area and have come up with some fantastic ideas! The School Council and the Library Monitors are also working together to look into Reading at Winterslow Primary School. They will be creating a questionnaire to send out and will be coming up with ideas as to how to encourage reading throughout the school. The School council are also taking an active role in helping to update our Anti Bullying Policy.

Over the past year they have worked on a project to improve the markings on the Key Stage 2 playground and are very pleased to say that they are finished!

“It’s really improved. Now me and my friends can play ‘Giants, Wizards and Dwarves’ and have fun. We also use it for Hockey and other PE,” Noah, Kingfishers.

“You used to not see the markings but now you can. It’s clear,” Edward, Kingfishers.

The School Council helped to arrange a ‘Thank You Tea Party’ for the helpers that come into our school.

In January 2015 Key Stage 2 members of the School Council went with Mrs Cunningham-Brown to plant trees in Bentley Woods as part of our ‘Green School’ programme.
