PE and Sport is an integral part of life here at Winterslow. We are extremely proud of how fond our children are of their learning in this area; what we offer the children through high quality teaching; the experiences and opportunities they receive; the support they get in order to develop their ability and how often they can showcase their talents in district and county events.
We currently hold the 'School Games Platinum Award' for our dedication to providing the children with high quality learning and experiences. This award has been through achieving 'Gold' status for 4 years in a row.
We endeavour to promote a life-long love for sport and being active. The children get to sample a wide range of different sports and clubs that are offered. Learning is enjoyable with emphasis on being active and building on fundamental movements. Skills are taught with aim of being transferable and pupils are taught how to select and apply these to different situations. With our impressive rural setting, each class takes part in Forest School sessions and learning incorporates our local environment and community.
