Home Learning Expectations

Each week we expect you to:

Reading- Read at least 5 times and record this in your reading record book.

Spelling- Complete your SCODE home learning task. This is a worksheet in your home learning folder to build on our advanced phonics code focus (sent home on a Friday and returned by the following Friday to the tray in the classroom)

Professor Assessor- Using their log in your child will be able to access their weekly (set on Friday) home learning task set through Professor Assessor. Your child may initially need some support to navigate the platform (logging on and accessing the tasks) but we politely request that you allow them to complete the questions as independently as possible. (They may need a pen and paper to make notes as they complete the tasks.) This will enable us to use the completed home learning to provide focussed support where required.

You may also want to:

Use the additional SCODE spelling words to help you consolidate the spelling codes each week (using the spelling strategies ideas below)

Practise your times tables using songs, rhymes, games and/or the platform on professor Assessor. Knowing these facts confidently will help you with all areas of your learning in Maths.

Below is a letter outlining why we believe home learning is important and a blank copy of a home learning timetable should you feel it would be useful to help plan and map out your week.
