Woodpecker Roman Day

Woodpecker class have been having an amazing day celebrating all things Roman. First thing we practised marching and getting into battle formation. We found that the ‘tortuga’ was particularly strong in defending against the Celts. We learned some Latin commands such as ‘sinister’ ‘dexter’ and ‘accelera.’

Woodpeckers are very creative and great at problem solving. After all that marching we got a bit grubby and sweaty so we needed a Roman Bath, but how do you get water from the mountains to the city? The Woodpeckers were challenged to make a Roman Aquaduct in small teams. Can they get their marbles to travel from one side of the table to the other?

Later on today we will be having a Roman scavenger hunt and we will end the day with a Roman banquet. What a busy day!!
